There has traditionally been a dearth of energy transition themes available to investors in India’s equity capital markets. However, that appears to have changed in recent months with the addition of several companies that have undertaken IPOs across the RE and electric mobility value chains. The proposed IPO by one of the largest manufacturers operating in India’s solar sector, Premier Energies, will add to that list, thereby enhancing the ability of investors to participate in India’s energy transition.
Will we see sharp post-IPO share price increases similar to those seen by some recent energy transition–themed companies that listed their shares? What relative valuation will Premier Energies achieve compared to its peers operating in traditional energy manufacturing?
