India's National Green Hydrogen Mission aims to make the country a global hub for green hydrogen and its derivatives. Green ammonia, a key derivative, can help decarbonise the fertiliser industry and acts as an efficient hydrogen carrier for storage and distribution. The objective of this tender under the SIGHT mode 2A scheme is to supply green ammonia to procurers identified at 11 locations nationwide.
The price discovery post-subsidy, compared to that of conventional ammonia, remains to be seen.
As outlined in the request for proposals (RFP) document, the tender involves 11 different locations. Will the plants be situated near each procurer site to optimise logistics and reduce transportation costs, or will they be strategically positioned to serve multiple procurers in a hub format?
