Akshra is a Research Analyst with the Green Finance Centre. Her work involves analysing market trends in areas such as renewable energy investments, green bonds, electric mobility, and policy and regulatory developments to provide evidence-based information to stakeholders. Akshra holds a Master’s degree in Regulatory Policy and Governance from TISS, Mumbai, where she wrote a thesis on the sustainability claims of ESG mutual funds in India. Her research juxtaposed the ESG performance of the portfolios of ESG mutual funds against those of some strategically selected conventional funds; the research also comprises a comparative analysis of related SEBI regulations with those of the EU, primarily EU Taxonomy and SFDR. Akshra has also developed a microfinance credit product for the street vegetable vendors of Mumbai as a part of her Regulatory Clinic. At TISS, she was selected by Cornell University, USA, for its prestigious joint international course titled The Global Food, Energy and Water Nexus. Before switching to policy and governance, Akshra had completed her first Master’s and an Honours program in English Literature, both from Delhi University. She honoured her first career choice by getting 3 papers published in the fields of Indian English Literature, Literary Linguistics, and French Literary Criticism.
