Soma Sekhara Rao Kolluru

Programme Associate

Dr. Soma Sekhara Rao Kolluru is a Programme Associate in the Air Quality team at The Council. His expertise lies in air quality monitoring and modeling, policy interventions, alternative monitoring technologies, air pollutant characterisations and associated health risks, and COVID-19 - air pollution interactions.

Prior to joining the Council, he worked as a Research Associate at the University of Surrey, UK. He was mainly involved in investigating and modeling the air quality in the street canyons with green infrastructure. He also worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, and did research on low-cost sensors and air quality management in Delhi. He has several publications in reputed journals and conferences.

Soma Sekhar obtained his Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, and his M.Tech from Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT), Bhopal. He did his B.Tech. at the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), Anantapur. His hobbies include playing badminton, reading non-fiction, listening to music, and exploring spirituality.
