Vaibhav Gupta Programme Lead

Vaibhav Gupta is a Programme Lead at the Council on Energy, Environment and Water (CEEW). His research interests include mineral resource security; future fossil fuel demand, supply and delivery; and collaborative environmental management. His current research focuses on understanding critical non-fuel mineral resource for India's manufacturing economy. He is also actively involved in energy modeling exercise for India.


Vaibhav holds an M.Tech degree in Environmental Science & Engineering from the Centre for Mining Environment at Indian School of Mines (ISM), Dhanbad. He also holds a post graduate diploma in Environmental Law from National Law School of India University, Bangalore.


Prior joining CEEW, Vaibhav has a broad work experience with Industry. He worked with Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Limited (GMDC Ltd) in the roles and responsibilities of engineering, environmental management system (ISO 14000), project planning and liasoning with government departments. His dissertation work on design of a 'particulate emission control system' using stack emission inventory and dispersion modeling has aided several coke manufacturing units, to comply with pollution control board norms.


He has attended distinguished certified training programs such as: five day workshop on 'Management of Industrial (Chemical) Disaster' conducted by Gujarat State Disaster management Authority, India; three day training program on 'Organisational Integration through effective teams' by Institute of Management, Nirma University.


He is affiliated as a life member with professional bodies such as Mining Engineers' Association of India (MEAI) and 'junior professional legal and regulatory tutorial group on carbon capture and storage' hosted by Global CCS Institute, Australia.
