Efficient Fossil Fuels

Coal-based power accounts for 57% of India’s installed electricity generation capacity and 70% of India’s CO2 emissions. There is scope for significant emissions reduction by using higher efficiency technologies or alternative fuels. But these entail large incremental costs among other barriers, thus adding to a complex set of factors affecting India’s energy mix.
