Climate Risk Report Launch at Bombay Stock Exchange on 13 July
9 Jul 2015

The Council on Energy, Environment and Water (CEEW), one of India's leading think-tanks, will be launching the report ‘Climate Change: A Risk Assessment’ on 13 July 2015 from 15:00 to 16:30 hrs at the International Convention Hall, Bombay Stock Exchange, Dalal Street, Kala Ghoda, Fort, Mumbai. The report will be released by Mr S. Ramadorai, Chairman, National Skill Development Agency (NSDA) & National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC). It will be simultaneously launched at the London Stock Exchange. This independent report applies the principles of risk assessment used in finance and national security to better understand and communicate the risks of climate change.

About the Report:

How are human activities affecting global climate change? And how will a changing climate impact complex human systems, including commodity markets, financial and insurance sectors, and national and international security? This report is a major multi-country climate change risk assessment, which considers: the future pathway of global emissions; the direct risks arising from the climate’s response to those emissions; and the risks arising from the interaction of climate change with complex human systems.

It has been co-authored by: Sir David King (formerly, UK Chief Scientific Adviser and currently UK Special Envoy for Climate Change), Prof. Daniel Schrag (Director, Harvard University Center for the Environment), Prof. Zhou Dadi (Emeritus Director-General of the Chinese government's Energy Research Institute, and member China National Expert Committee on Climate Change), Prof. Qi Ye (Director, Brookings-Tsinghua Centre for Public Policy at Tsinghua University) and Dr Arunabha Ghosh (CEO, CEEW), with inputs from numerous experts from the fields of climate science, energy technology, water, food and agriculture, health, finance, accounting, insurance, and defence and national security.
