In Press: CEO Dr Arunabha Ghosh's Column on Environmental Clearances in Business Standard
29 Oct 2014

Starting this October, Business Standard, one of India's most reputed newspapers, will feature our CEO Dr Arunabha Ghosh's monthly column titled 'Inflexion Points'.

In his first piece published on 28 October, Dr Ghosh discussed the state and challenges related to environmental clearances in India based on an independent analysis carried out by the CEEW team. In this column, he mentioned that collection of baseline data, conduct of EIAs and public hearings, and submission of relevant documents require the most time, and are the reasons for most delays across sectors. He further emphasised that environmental clearances should not be viewed as a zero-sum game but should be streamlined, made more credible, more informative, more inclusive and yet more timebound.
