The Council on Energy, Environment and Water (CEEW) and Natural Resources Defence Council (NRDC) jointly organised industry round table discussions on hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs). The first roundtable discussion was on the “The Next Generation of Refrigerants In Room Air-Conditioner Industry”, held on 03 July, followed by a discussion on “HFC Phase Down in Mobile Air-conditioning”, held on 04 July 2014.
The purpose of the Room Air-Conditioner roundtable was to discuss current progress on HFC phase down, share an introduction to CEEW’s research on HFC emissions and share insights on the Chinese market transformation. The discussion had industry representatives from Daikin India, DuPont, British High Commission-DFID India, National Informatics Centre, Ministry of Communications & Information Technology, U.S. Embassy, etc.
The focus of the Mobile Air Conditioning roundtable was to engage a cross-industry group in discussions on phasing down high-GWP HFCs, and seek their inputs for research. The discussion had representatives from Subros, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, Dupont, Tata Motors, etc.
