Vaibhav Chaturvedi from CEEW participates in the 'Policy Forum Berlin 2013: Realising the Water, Energy and Food Security Nexus' : 28 November-29 November 2013

Dr. Vaibhav Chaturvedi was invited to participate in the ' Policy Forum Berlin 2013: Realising the Water, Energy and Food Security Nexus'. The forum was organized by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), and the Development Policy Forum of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH. The forum aimed at providing a new impetus to putting the Nexus way of thinking into practice and the panel discussions were centred around this theme. On the first day of the forum, Vaibhav participated in the hot topic session on 'Bringing the WEF nexus into practice- Setting up the right incentives'. On day two, Vaibhav participated in the session on 'Asia: Achieving water, energy and food security in an urbanizing world'. In this session, Vaibhav highlighted the importance of understanding tradeoffs between alternative policy prescriptions and then to think about strategies for moving from tradeoffs to co-benefits. The forum concluded with the promise of continuing dialogues for building a nexus thinking and approach for putting this thinking into practice.
