Arunabha Ghosh's latest op-ed on energy-trade linkages published in the Business Standard
15 Apr 2013

An op-ed jointly written by Dr Arunabha Ghosh from CEEW and Ricardo Melendez-Ortiz, CEO of the International Centre on Trade and Sustainable Development on how efforts to scale-up renewable energy are being obstructed by a range of clean energy trade barriers was published in the Business Standard today. This op-ed, timely published on the eve of the inauguration of the Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM) being hosted by India this year, also outlines recommendations that could help overcome some of these barriers. Th op-ed concludes by making a call to policy makers to explore all avenues - bilateral, regional and plurilateral, that could help create a favourable environment for clean energy deployment. To address this issue even further, CEEW and ICTSD are organising a high-level policy dialogue on clean energy and trade at the CEM venue. Representatives from as many as twelve countries, CEO-level corporates operating in the clean energy sector and Indian as well as international experts on Clean Energy are expected to engage in the dialogue to deliberate on the path that must be adopted moving forward.
