CEEW - Veolia Water India organised a roundtable discussion on Private Sector Participation in Water Management and Water for All
11 Feb 2013

In an effort to broaden and deepen the dialogue on the challenges with urban water management and offer directions for research, CEEW and Veolia Water India conducted yet another roundtable on urban water management in New Delhi this morning. Second of a series of five roundtables that both institutions are conducting together, this roundtable discussion focused on Private Sector Participation in Water Management and Water for All, thereby seeking views on whether private sector in water is compatible with ensuring availability of water for all. The earlier roundtable focused on water utility management in the urban sector and the future roundtables will focus on data collection and management, regulation and capacity building in the urban water sector.

Participants from a range of stakeholder groups were present at the discussion. Mr GS Basu, General Manager of Water Division, Jamshedpur Utilities & Services Company Ltd (JUSCO's) Water Division chaired the session. Proceedings from the discussion will soon be available at ceew.in/water
