4 Feb 2013

CEEW's Chairperson Suresh Prabhu chaired a session on  "Role of Stakeholders in increasing Food Production " during a power-packed conference on "Doubling Food Production in Five Years" at 'Delhi's Vigyan Bhavan which attracted several stakeholders from Indian and international agrobusinesses; politicians, including the president and Union cabinet ministers; and international organisations working on food security. During the discussion that Mr Prabhu chaired, several top officials representing a range of stakeholders in the food production sector were present. Banking on remarks that each of the panelists made, Mr Prabhu drove home the point that an integrated action by all stakeholders - industry, government, civil society, international organisations and end-users; and across several sectors - water, energy and environement - was needed to ensure an increase in food production.
