CEEW-NRDC's new op-ed published in Business Standard today
11 Oct 2012

Arunabha Ghosh, CEEW's CEO and Anjali Jaiswal, NRDC's India Initiative Director, jointly wrote an op-ed "What's eclipsing India's solar sector?" that was published in Business Standard today. CEEW and NRDC (Natural Resources Defense Council) conducted the first independent analysis of the Indian National Solar Mission that aims to install 22 gigawatts of solar energy by 2022. As Phase I of the Mission approaches its end, they published two reports on solar this year, “Laying the Foundation for a Bright Future", and "Concentrated Solar Power: Heating Up India’s Solar Thermal Market under the National Solar Mission”. Both these reports analyse different aspects that affect the Mission like bidding, commissioning, bankability, and general environment for operating solar businesses. Put together, both CEEW-NRDC reports make a strong case for greater transparency, benchmarking and monitoring; strategic approaches to finance; and technology-neutral policies for manufacturing in order to strengthen the Mission in its subsequent phases.Click Here to read.
