CEEW presents work on solar at the CII Climate Change Council meeting

Dr Arunabha Ghosh from CEEW who is also member of the CII Climate Change Council for the year 2012-13 presented at the Council’s meeting held in New Delhi yesterday. The Council chaired by Dr Jamshed Irani, former director of Tata Sons and TRF Limited, brings together selected industrialists and thinkers in the environment sector.

Dr Ghosh talked about “India’s Solar Future: Financing, Manufacturing, Technology, & Trade Concerns". He showcased key findings and recommendations pertaining to bankability, manufacturing and the industry environment in which the solar industry operates, from CEEW's research that assessed progress of India's Solar Mission Phase I. He further presented findings fron CEEW's research on clean energy subsidies around the world and subsequently enumerated the policy priorities that will have to be addressed for a bright solar future in India.
