CEEW deposes at the Brazilian Federal Senate
21 Jun 2012

CEEW was invited by Brazilian senators to depose at a public hearing of the Environment, Consumer Rights and Oversight Committee, and the Agriculture and Land Reform Committee of the Brazilian Federal Senate in Rio de Janeiro today. Based on the extensive knowledge it has accumulated on water issues in India, best exemplified by the National Water Resources Framework Study that it produced and which was submitted to the Planning Commission of India ahead of the 12th Five Year Plan, CEEW delivered a presentation on water challenges in South Asia, in particular India. During his presentation, Dr Arunabha Ghosh also reflected on the Rio+20 goals in the context of the need for an integrated approach to managing energy, environment and water.
