Karan Kothadiya

Consultant

Karan is a Consultant at The Council in the Industrial Sustainability Team. He studies decarbonisation pathways that find applications in hard-to-abate sectors of the economy. His primary areas of interest are clean hydrogen technologies and technological carbon capture and storage.

Before joining The Council, Karan worked as a management consultant with Kearney, India. There he advised clients on market-entry strategy, due-diligence, large-scale cost transformation, consumer-maturity assessment projects across industries such as apparel retail, e-commerce, contract manufacturing, PE, and automobile manufacturing. Karan later worked on public health financing with Clinton Health Access Initiative as part of its team embedded at the National Health Authority. Karan supported the NHA on the Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY health assurance scheme with data-driven decision-making for policy development, process improvement initiatives and pilots on special initiatives.

Karan is an engineer by education, having graduated from IIT Bombay with a dual degree (BTech + MTech) in Metallurgical Engineering and Materials Science. In his personal time, he finds joy in reading, playing basketball, long-distance running, listening to Hindustani classical music and ghazals, pursuing 1-day itineraries and adventure sports.
