About the Event

The Council on Energy, Environment, and Water (CEEW) participated as an accredited observer at the 24th session of the Conference of Parties (COP24) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), in Katowice, Poland from 2 to 14 December 2018. COP24 was a crucial meeting, with the contentious rule book for implementing the Paris Agreement being finalised at the end of the negotiations.

CEEW hosted four events at COP this year. Our COP24 team also presented our research at 24 other side events, listed below. Fact sheets on research we presented are available here. Details on our sessions and speaking engagements are available below.

  • Capacity Building Initiatives for Low Emissions and Climate Resilient Strategies
    11 December

Part of Capacity Building Day 2018, hosted by the Paris Committee on Capacity Building (PCCB), this session facilitated a dialogue among global experts featuring the existing gaps and challenges in implementing the Paris Agreement, country specific experiences, capacity building initiatives on transparency, and potential approaches for the future.
